Logo Quiz: How Well Do You Really Know Famous Brand Logos?
Logo Quiz: How Well Do You Really Know Famous Brand Logos?
We see hundreds of brand logos every single day — on our phones, cars, clothes, and food. But how many could you actually identify from the symbol alone, without the company name written underneath?
That's the challenge behind our Logo Quiz — a fast-paced game that tests your brand recognition skills with 124 carefully curated, icon-only logos. No text. No company names. Just the pure symbol.
What Is the Logo Quiz?
The Logo Quiz is a timed trivia game where you're shown a company's logo — stripped down to just its icon or symbol — and you have to type the company name.
How It Works
- •You get 5 minutes on the clock
- •A logo appears on screen — only the icon, no company name visible
- •Type your guess in the input field and hit Enter
- •Correct answers earn +10 points each
- •Use arrow buttons to skip to the next or previous logo
- •You get 3 hints for the entire game (one per logo, use them wisely!)
- •Aim to identify as many of the 124 logos as you can before time runs out
The logos span multiple categories including Technology, Automotive, Fashion, Food & Drink, Gaming, Finance, Sports, and more.
Why Icon-Only Logos Make It Harder (and More Fun)
Here's the thing — most company logos include the company name written right on them. Remove that text, and suddenly recognizing brands becomes a real challenge.
Think You Know These?
Try this mental test:
- •A bitten fruit silhouette — easy, right? That's Apple.
- •Three parallel stripes — Adidas, of course.
- •A prancing horse on a yellow shield — Ferrari.
- •Four interlocking silver rings — Audi.
- •A green twin-tailed siren — Starbucks.
Those were the easy ones. Now try these:
- •A tilted H inside an oval — could be Hyundai, Honda, or Hummer?
- •Three red diamonds arranged in a triangle — which Japanese brand is this?
- •A blue circle with a batwing M — phone company or motorcycle brand?
- •An orange fox wrapping around a globe — browser or wildlife org?
- •A winged B emblem — which luxury car brand?
The answers: Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Motorola, Firefox, and Bentley. How many did you get?
The Psychology Behind Logo Recognition
There's actual science behind why some logos are instantly recognizable while others trip us up.
Visual Memory vs. Text Memory
Our brains process images 60,000 times faster than text. That's why iconic symbols like Nike's swoosh or Apple's apple are burned into our memory — we've seen them thousands of times in contexts where the visual processing happened automatically.
The Mere Exposure Effect
The more often you see something, the more familiar and likable it becomes. Brands spend billions on advertising precisely so their logo becomes second nature to you. The Logo Quiz tests how deeply that exposure has embedded itself in your memory.
Color Association
Many logos are instantly tied to their colors:
- •Red Bull — those charging red bulls on a yellow sun
- •Spotify — the unmistakable green circle
- •Snapchat — that yellow ghost
- •Discord — purple/blue controller face
Remove the name but keep the colors and shape, and your brain fills in the rest.
Logo Categories in Our Quiz
We've curated 124 logos across diverse categories to test different areas of your brand knowledge:
Technology (34 logos)
From social media icons you tap daily (Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok) to developer tools (GitHub, Docker, GitLab), this is the largest category. Can you tell Slack from Figma from Notion just by their icon?
Automotive (33 logos)
Car enthusiasts will love this section. Every major automaker has a distinctive emblem — from Ferrari's prancing horse to Toyota's overlapping ovals to Alfa Romeo's serpent-and-cross crest. But can you distinguish Lexus from Infiniti from Acura?
Fashion & Luxury (16 logos)
High-end fashion houses are known for iconic monograms and symbols. Chanel's interlocking Cs, Versace's Medusa head, Lacoste's crocodile, and YSL's elegant monogram all make appearances.
Food & Drink (10 logos)
Fast food chains and beverage brands have some of the most recognizable symbols in the world. McDonald's golden arches, Starbucks' siren, and Pepsi's red-white-blue globe are cultural icons.
Gaming (5 logos)
PlayStation's intertwined P-S, Xbox's green sphere, and Steam's piston symbol — gaming logos are designed to be instantly recognizable on loading screens.
Finance, Sports & More
From Mastercard's overlapping circles to the Olympic rings to Bitcoin's orange B, there's something for everyone.
Tips and Strategies for High Scores
Start Fast, Get Easy Wins
When a logo you recognize pops up, type fast. Don't overthink the obvious ones — every second counts with a 5-minute timer.
Use the Skip Buttons
Stuck on a logo? Don't waste time staring at it. Hit the right arrow to skip ahead, then come back later. The arrow buttons let you navigate freely through all unguessed logos.
Save Hints for the Toughest Ones
You only get 3 hints for the entire game, and you can only use one hint per logo. Don't waste a hint on a logo you might figure out — save them for the ones that truly stump you.
Think by Category
The category badge is shown for each logo. If you see "Automotive" and a shield-shaped emblem, mentally run through car brands with shield logos: Porsche, Cadillac, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini...
Try Alternate Names
The quiz accepts common abbreviations and alternate names. "VW" works for Volkswagen, "Chevy" for Chevrolet, "Lambo" for Lamborghini, and "Insta" for Instagram.
How Our Logo Quiz Compares
vs. Other Logo Quiz Apps
Most logo quiz apps use multiple-choice answers, which means you can often guess correctly by elimination. Our quiz requires you to type the answer — no multiple choice safety net. This makes it significantly harder but far more satisfying when you nail it.
vs. Logo Quiz Books
Physical logo quiz books can't update their content or give you instant feedback. Our web-based quiz gives you real-time scoring, a countdown timer, and a global leaderboard to compete on.

Fun Facts About Famous Logos
The Nike Swoosh Cost $35
In 1971, graphic design student Carolyn Davidson was paid just $35 to design the Nike swoosh. Phil Knight reportedly said, "I don't love it, but it'll grow on me." That $35 design is now worth billions.
Apple's Logo Was Originally Isaac Newton
The very first Apple logo depicted Sir Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree. Steve Jobs thought it was too complex and commissioned the iconic bitten apple we know today. The "bite" was added so people wouldn't confuse it with a cherry or tomato.
The Hidden Arrow in FedEx
While not in our quiz (it's a text-based logo), the FedEx logo famously hides an arrow between the E and x — a perfect example of how logos contain subtle design details.
Ferrari and Porsche Both Have Prancing Horses
Both logos feature a horse — Ferrari's on a yellow background and Porsche's as part of the Stuttgart coat of arms. This is because Stuttgart was originally a horse-breeding center, and Enzo Ferrari adopted the prancing horse from an Italian WWI fighter pilot.
The McDonald's Arches Were Almost Removed
In the 1960s, McDonald's executives wanted to remove the golden arches from their branding. Psychologist Louis Cheskin convinced them to keep the arches, arguing their shape subconsciously reminded customers of "nourishing breasts." True story.
